I welcome the announcement from the Department for Transport to fund £200 million improvements of walking and cycling routes.
Norfolk County Council will receive £2.2 million of this funding, building on existing Government travel and cycle schemes to ensure Norwich North residents have safe and accessible travel routes, ease congestion, and improve the health and wellbeing of people who enjoy active travel.
Active travel is also estimated to bring a £36.5 billion boost to the economy in a year through increased high street spending and better access to jobs, delivering on our priority to grow the economy.
More information on the funding scheme can be found here.
