Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 04 December 2014 09:39

Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North is backing the national campaign to support small businesses by making local business visits ahead of Small Business Saturday.

Chloe LR-29

Chloe will visit local brewery, ‘Why Not’ Brewery in Thorpe St Andrew and local bakery, Fresh Bake in Old Catton, in Chloe’s constituency.  The two-and-a-half-barrel brewery has recently won three awards and yet is an extremely small operation originally started in owner Colin Emms’ shed.  The bakery is a dab hand at supplying festive mince pies to local pubs.  Chloe will be behind the scenes at both.

Small Business Saturday is to show support for all our small businesses and encourages people to buy from them on the day, which being the first Saturday of December is one of the busiest of the year.  Businesses can find out how to get involved and encourage people to buy from them at www.smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com

Chloe has herself run a Great Local Shop competition in 2013, in which Freshbake was a strong contender.  Chloe keenly supports local businesses and strongly supports the ‘Buy Local’ Norfolk Campaign

Chloe said: “We have some great local small businesses here in Norwich and we know how much a special day like this benefits them and the local economy.  It’s a great opportunity to “buy local” on this day, and after.  I urge everyone to use your local small business on Saturday and show your support for them.”
