Chloe Smith MP provides information to hard pressed parents during teachers' strike

I am deeply disappointed that some teachers have decided to take strike action on Tuesday 1st Oct.  The teaching union leadership need to call off their strike action.  It will damage children’s education, disrupt parents’ lives and undermine the respect in which the teaching profession deserves to be held.

Tomorrow’s strike action will be a severe disruption to children and hardworking parents in Norwich. The Department for Education has some more detail about what to expect during strike action on this link: http://media.education.gov.uk/assets/files/pdf/f/strike%20advice%20-%20frequently%20asked%20questions.pdf

The public does not support strike action and very few teachers actually voted for it.  The union leadership need to put their ideology to one side and put children and parents first.
