Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, will on Monday 9th March 2015 be taking part in an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The networking breakfast event, organised by City College Norwich, and taking place in their Start-Up Lounge will focus on celebrating women’s achievements. The event will a mix of professional women, who represent Norfolk and what it can offer to ambitious students.

Chloe will join the team of professional women to network and talk to students from the college about her work as a female MP and her journey to Westminster from being a Norfolk schoolgirl.

Chloe comments: “International Women's Day reminds us of what we can do at home and abroad to support women and girls around the world.  I'm proud that Britain has led the fight internationally for an end to violence against women and girls.  In Norwich we see improvements in the economy that benefit female students who might be leaving college now, looking for a secure future:  more jobs than ever before, an end to the gender pay gap for younger women, and better conditions in work like flexible parental leave and the tax free childcare scheme which I've focused on in Parliament.”
