Sending police to burglaries

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 07 October 2022 16:49

I know that tackling crime is a priority for my constituents here in north Norwich and I work very closely with our local police force to ensure that we are able to crack down on crime locally.

I welcome that both here in Norfolk and nationwide, police chiefs in England and Wales have pledged to send a police officer to every burglary as part of the Government’s commitment to tackle crime and keep people safe for local communities and constituents.

This news comes on top of the Government’s commitment to employ more police officers employed locally where they can have the greatest impact in tackling crime and keeping communities safe as part of the Beating Crime Plan.

Norfolk Constabulary have employed a further 211 police officers since September 2019 as part of the Government’s drive to get a further 20,000 more police officers on the street nationwide, by next March.

All this shows the Government’s commitment to tackle crime and keep people safe and I am happy to support all this as I know it provides extra protection for local communities and residents. I know that these measures will be supported by the steps being taken to support our economy and drive for growth.

As always, if I can help constituents with any matter, please do not hesitate to email me on chloe@chloesmith.org.uk or ring my constituent office on 01603 414756.
