Chloe SmithFigures released today show that the Energy Bill Support Scheme has helped 99 per cent of households across Great Britain and highlights which suppliers are leading in providing support, as the cost of living for families is cut in Norwich.
In the face of increased global gas prices, the government are rightly committed to supporting families to heat their homes this winter and ensuring energy suppliers are doing everything they can to support customers at this time.
That is why £5.7 billion of support to 99 per cent of households across Great Britain has been provided through the Energy Bills Support scheme, with 71 per cent of all prepayment vouchers redeemed so far. The government are also holding energy companies to account to make sure they are doing everything they can to alert eligible households to these vouchers.
Residents rightly expect energy suppliers to go above and beyond to alert them to this support – and I am pleased that the government will continue to hold them to account as support families with the cost of living continues this winter.
