Cost of Living

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 19 January 2022 15:47

The Government are continuing to help people into work and providing immediate support to help people with the cost of living.

Pressures created by global events, including the rise in wholesale gas prices and the Covid pandemic, have unavoidably caused a strain on families and household costs this winter

That is why the Government are continuing to support families with household bills – including delivering a £1,000 tax cut for working families, boosting the National Living Wage to £9.50 an hour and keeping our Energy Price Cap in place to protect consumers from the global spike in gas prices.

As well as this support to ease the pressures on families and help manage day to day costs, there is also help for people to get into work, advance, and keep more of what they earn through our Plan for Jobs.
