Chloe SmithChloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, today visited a pioneering local training centre with Eastern Region MEP Vicky Ford.
From 11am they were given a tour of EAGIT before meeting students of the training centre on the Airport Industrial Estate.
Formed in 1967, EAGIT is East Anglia's premier training organisation for the Industrial and Commercial sectors in engineering. EAGIT Ltd was awarded CoVE (Centre of Vocational Excellence) status for Engineering in December 2005 and Beacon status in January 2006.
EAGIT's custom built workshop, which Chloe and Vicky visited, provides a wide range of training services to over 250 companies in a wide range of skills including mechanical and electrical engineering, welding and fabrication and pneumatics. It also provides apprenticeships, short courses and bespoke training courses for industry.
