Chloe has welcomed the plans submitted to Broadland District Council to build five new ward buildings at Hellesdon Hospital.

The plans come after Chloe met with Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust chief executive Jonathan Warren earlier in the year to discuss the early stages for the development at Hellesdon Hospital.

Should the plans be approved it would see four of the existing wards relocated and a brand new 16-bed ward created, taking the total bed capacity of the hospital to 80.

Commenting, Chloe said, “I'm delighted to see the real commitment to mental health that the Government is making in the shape of this £38m grant to the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust which will ensure that our mental health services continue to improve.”

“At the last election I set out getting local NHS services the resources they need as one of my key priorities and will continue to support the business case for this project to ensure that we benefit from the Conservative Government's NHS long-term plan in Norwich.”
