Chloe quizzes VOA

Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, will be meeting with the Eastern Region Valuation Agency on Friday 19th March to discuss the administration of business rates in the local area.

Chloe has previously met with local publicans and local petrol station owners to discuss the impact of the 2010 business rate revaluation on their businesses. Both types of business face rates calculated on their turnover rather than their floor space, exposing them to a penalty for success. Chloe has also raised the issue in Parliament and in extensive correspondence with the Department for Communities and Local Government.

She will use the VOA meeting to discuss how local rates have been calculated.
