Chloe meets Local Involvement Network

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 25 January 2012 15:09

Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, today attended a private meeting with Patrick Thompson, the Chairman of the Strategy Group for Norfolk Local Involvement Network  (LINk). During the meeting, Chloe discussed the state of health and social care provision in the Norwich area.

Local Involvement Networks (LINks) were set up recently to bring together local people, groups and organisations wanting to influence the way health and social care services are provided in their area.

Norfolk LINk aims to ask local people their opinions on local health and social care services and how they think the services need to be improved.  The LINk then investigates these opinions in the aim of increasing accountability and efficiency in service provision.

Chloe comments:

“Health and social care provision is a hot topic in Norwich and the country as a whole.  We all have experience of when things have gone well and less well, and it’s important for patients, carers and others to hold health and social care services to account.  I fully support the NHS and the public provision of our local social services, and I enjoyed hearing about ways that they can be further improved.”
