World's top graduates get new UK visa option

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 30 May 2022 10:20

Today, the Government has opened a new visa scheme for the world’s top graduates, which uses post-Brexit freedoms to attract the brightest and the best to the UK.

The post-Brexit points-based immigration system is designed to attract the best and the brightest to the UK by establishing the UK as a leading international hub for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

That is why the Government has opened the ‘high potential individual’ route today, giving alumni of the top 50 non-UK universities who graduated in the past five years and are fluent in English a work visa lasting up to three years.

This will put ability and talent first, not where someone comes from, and will help grow the economy – making sure the businesses of tomorrow are built here, today.
