Covid-19 Vaccine Update for anyone over the age of 70

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 09 February 2021 10:02

From today, anyone aged 70 and over who has not been vaccinated are being urged to contact their local NHS to arrange a jab, as more than 12 million people have been vaccinated. The easiest way to book a vaccine is to use the online portal, or if you can’t get online, you can ring 119 or contact your GP. You can access the online portal here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Thanks to the huge efforts of the NHS, volunteers and local authorities, 12 million vulnerable people so far have been vaccinated - including around 9 in ten of all over-70s.

This means that the country is on track to meet the goal of offering everyone in the top four priority groups a jab.

Vaccines are our way out of this pandemic and, by ensuring you and your loved ones get booked in for a jab, the NHS can give those most at-risk the protection they need as we continue to fight this disease together.
