Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, has welcomed news of increased investment for roads in Norwich.

A new, £250 million Pothole Fund is to be created to help tackle the problem of potholes in the UK. This is on top of an extra £5 billion for road maintenance and will help to fill millions of potholes each year.

Commenting on the announcement Chloe said:

“This is great news for Norwich motorists. There’s nothing worse than having to continually repair your car because of damage from potholes. This fund will help to clear up our roads and end the misery for motorists.”

Other investment in Norwich infrastructure includes the approval of the Norwich Northern Distributor Link Road. Construction is expected to begin before the end of the year.

Chloe said:

“This road will provide vital relief for residents and businesses.

“Delay puts good cross-party work here in Norfolk in jeopardy so I welcome the Chancellor’s confirmation that work will begin before the end of the year.”
