Chloe Smith today participated in the Newday Social Action project in Catton, Norwich.

Newday, a Christian youth event which started in 2004, takes place every year. This August more than 6000 young people travelled to the Norfolk Showground for the event.

Today marks the final day of the Big Spring Clean event in the areas of Bullard Road, Palmer Road, George Pope Road, Jewson Road and Brickfield Close of Catton, Norwich. Around 400 Newday delegates have provided assistance to the community over the last week by clearing gardens and painting garden fences as requested by community liaison committees and Norwich City Council.

Commenting on the project Chloe Smith said;

"Newday have done a very impressive job in engaging young people from across the country as well as local people here in the city to work hard on this project. I was with them last year and am very pleased that the church's projects are sustainable and rooted in the local area. I hope the work done this week will be appreciated and upheld in the area."
