Chloe attends broadband meeting

Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, today joined two other Norfolk MPs to discuss broadband speeds around the county with British Telecom (BT).

A number of local people, predominantly those living in rural areas, currently experience slow broadband speeds in so-called ‘not spots' around the county. This has obvious affects on businesses and individuals in the county, and the three local MPs have called for action.

BT is reportedly in the process of upgrading telecom facilities in Norwich in order to increase broadband speeds in the city up to a level more in line with other parts of the country.

Chloe welcomes these plans and comments:

It is incredibly important to make sure this actually happens. I, for one, will keep on top of this.

‘Businesses and households in Norfolk- urban and rural alike- need reliable and affordable broadband.

‘Along with a better rail service, Norfolk needs this kind of basic modern infrastructure.'
